A new tone AND a new size?! You bet! A new skin tone isn't the only new thing coming to TransTape, there's now a new XL size measuring 7 inches. Before now, there was only the small 3 inch, medium 4 inch and the large 5 inch. This may seem like a pretty minor thing to some, but it's actually a huge deal and I'm gonna tell you why!
Â
Hello, beautiful people!
Â
That means everyone, especially you.
Â
I've got some pretty exciting news for you, today.
If you didn't already read it in the summary.
Â
After already blowing our minds with a brand new skin tone that took countless hours to develop, TransTape has gifted us an XL size roll of tape.
Â
Both will be available for sale on August 28th, 2024!
Â
Do you understand how amazing this is?
Â
It's okay if you don't, because I'm going to tell you all about it.
Â
But, of course, we need to talk about the basics.
Â
You got it, as always, I've gotta give you a refresher on TransTape.
Â
If you're new to TransTape, I highly recommend reading this next section.
Â
Not because I spend so much time writing these blogs, but because there's some pretty good stuff in there that you may not know yet.
Â
But if you're a professional taper, feel free to either skip or skim.
Â
I'll just cry about it later.
Â
Not really.
Â
Well, maybe.
Â
Â
Well, it's tape.
Â
Duh.
Â
No, but.
Â
Well, yes.
Â
Anyways.
Â
TransTape is the original body transformation system and has been helping people find freedom in their own skin since 2016!
Â
TransTape can be used in place of other gender affirming products such as binders, bras, gaffes and harnesses.
Â
And remember, gender affirming products are for everyone. You don't need to identify as anything except yourself to use TransTape.
Â
Which brings me to my next point.
Â
The Trans in TransTape stands for transformation.
Â
It's often mistaken as standing for transgender, and that's just not the case!
Â
TransTape is for everyone, and that will never change!
Â
So now that we covered that common misconception, let's move on to what exactly this tape is made out of.
Â
This incredible tape is made from 95% cotton and 5% spandex with a hypoallergenic medical-grade acrylic adhesive that is latex free and non-medicated.
Â
Phew, what a sentence.
Â
It's also sweat proof, water-proof and, well, life proof.
Â
Â
You can wear TransTape at home, at work, at the gym, in the pool, in the ocean, in the shower and even while you sleep.
Â
And because of the backless and strapless design, it's also compression free!
Â
Which is why this tape is safe to wear during intense activities and while you sleep.
Â
This zero compression design also allows some users with breathing ailments, such as asthma, to experience gender euphoria without risking their health in the process.
Â
How cool is that? So cool.
Â
Â
TransTape can be worn for, on average, 3-5 days.
Â
This of course depends on the user and the application, but even 3 days is more than double what you would get out of a binder.
Â
For those of you who don't know already, it's usually recommended to wear binders for about 8 hours at a time for safety due to the compression.
Â
If by chance this little recap has convinced you to buy some tape for the first time, I have one more thing for you.
Â
Don't forget to do a test strip!
Â
Before taping for the first time, it's extremely important to do a test strip to see how your skin handles the tape and adhesive.
Â
Although TransTape uses high quality materials and hypoallergenic adhesive, this does not mean every single person is going to have the same experience.
Â
We're all different, and that's a beautiful thing.
Â
So do a 24hr test strip as soon as your new favorite gender affirming product arrives.
Â
Â
Â
Yes!
Â
Now that I've got you up to speed on the very basics of TransTape, we can talk about the juicy stuff.
Â
Like the new XL size roll!
Â
For a while now, there have been just a few requests for a larger size tape.
Â
In most cases, it was requested by users who require a little more skin to be covered than the original LG size allows.
Â
Like I said before, everybody is different and that's a beautiful thing.
Â
So after getting plenty of requests for a larger size, TransTape has listened and delivered!
Â
Instead of only offering the SM (3in), MD (4in) and LG (5in), there will now be an XL (7in) roll offered in all skin tones.
Â
WOOOOOOOOO!
Â
What exactly makes a larger size beneficial and exciting, though?
Â
Thank you so much for asking.
Â
Â
For chest binding, this could mean using fewer strips of tape.
Â
I know we all love to save some tape during application, myself included.
Â
And if you're someone who has a larger chest and has struggled with TransTape in the past, this could be your sign to give it another try!
Â
And don't be afraid to reach out to the help-desk through the chat option on the website for some application assistance!
Â
Having an additional 2 inches in width could completely change the way you tape!
Â
And possibly change the way you feel while taped!
Â
Â
Maybe you're someone who has been using two strips of tape on each side for a while and you want to give the one strip technique a try.
Â
Or, maybe you just want to feel more secure and covered while taping.
Â
Either way, there's no wrong reason to give it a try, use whatever size you want for whatever reason!
Â
I personally find the new XL size super exciting because there are many people who are going to feel more confident about giving TransTape a try now.
Â
So if you've ever thought to yourself that you were, "too big," to try TransTape, give it another thought and maybe another chance! TransTape is for everyone.
Â
Having an XL size roll will allow people to explore more ways of taping and hopefully find some gender euphoria in the process.
Â
How amazing!
Â
I love TransTape.
Â
Â
The XL size for binding is already a massive plus, but the packing and tucking benefits are just as fantastic.
Â
Â
If you pack with TransTape, you already know the process can be like an arts and crafts project.
Â
And I mean that in the most loving way, I enjoy packing with TransTape!
Â
Depending on your packing pecker of choice, you may have some issues with the tape keeping the packer secured to your skin.
Â
Some John's are just a little too big, you know?
Â
For example, I have an STP (stand to pee) with a lot of prosthetic material at the top so it blends and contours better with my body.
Â
This makes the packer a decent bit heavier than some, but also a lot harder to cover with TransTape because there's so much extra prosthetic skin at the top.
Â
The extra two inches in the XL roll will completely take away my need for an additional strip with this STP.
Â
I love saving tape and convenience.
Â
And if you tuck with TransTape, this can be a major help to you as well!
Â
The wider strips will allow more area to be covered with one piece and you'll likely feel much more secure with wider strips.
Â
And depending on your method, you might even end up saving some tape in the process by cutting the pieces in halves or thirds!
Â
Similar to binding, having a little extra width on the tape can help you feel more secure and comfortable on the daily.
Â
And let's be real, who doesn't need a little extra security and comfort right now?
Â
Â
I hope you're excited about the new XL roll, because I sure am!
Â
The new XL size and new 2.5 skin tone will be available for sale starting on August 28th, 2024!
Â
If having an extra two inches added to your tape isn't on your list of wants and needs right now, that's totally cool.
Â
But that doesn't take away from the fact that this could really help a lot of people.
Â
And that should be celebrated by everyone!
Â
A win for one of us, is a win for all of us.
Â
So whether you're looking to replace your bra with something less restrictive but still supportive, or looking for an alternative to gaffes, the new XL roll of TransTape could very well be the answer you've been looking for.
Â
Or someone else's answer, who knows? Spread the word!
Â
A friendly reminder that regardless of the context, there is never anything wrong with needing or wanting the next size up.
Â
That goes for everything in every aspect of life, this is a body positive space!
Â
We are all human beings with our own unique qualities, and that's what makes life so beautiful and worth experiencing.
Â
And the last time I checked, we're all here for a good time.
Â
So I dare you to try something new today.
Â
Be different, be yourself.
Â
And then, tell yourself how much you love yourself.
Â
And all those little things that make you, you.
Â
Until next time,
Â
Stay awesome,
Â
Stay beautiful,
Â
Stay you.
Â
You are loved and it gets better.
Â
Talk to you soon,
Â
