Pack it, Lift it, Tuck it, Play. Can you wear TransTape all day?

Pack it, Lift it, Tuck it, Play. Can you wear TransTape all day? Hi, I’m Danielle, your favorite trans gf. So if you don’t know me, I record and produce a lot of music among various odd jobs. She performs! She dances, she sings! Look at her go, I’m literally doing incredible things. Lately? It’s been the vibe, overall. Success is blooming like the flowers and the sun is out, and from where I stand this world is beautiful… as I wonder if I'm basically like these plants outside. Photosynthesize. As the days get longer you may ask me - yes, you can totally ask. “Oh Danielle, how long can I wear my TransTape for?” And I’ve got answers bb no problem.

So before you decide to find out how long you can wear your TransTape on your own,  let’s take a little bit of time to make sure you’re not gonna regret it. So if this is your first time with TransTape, before you go and start taping yourself up all over, you need to do a patch test first! I for one have what one might call very sensitive skin. TransTape is great! Firm, yet gentle on my skin. But we’re here to talk about your skin though, not mine.

Patch testing is easy to do. Just take a small piece of TransTape and put it on your body, on a patch of skin in the area you mean to tape up. Leave it on for up to two days. Don’t leave it on for more than a couple of days at most. You can remove the TransTape with some of your Jojoba Removal Oil that I really love. Rub it into your skin, saturating the tape, and let the oil dissolve the adhesive like a good little oil. It will take a few minutes. But after five or so minutes have passed carefully peel it off and observe what if any results you find. Any time I’ve ever had any issues is when I didn’t wait on the Removal Oil long enough, but if you happened not to have applied enough oil, or if there was any kind of irritation the Repairing Salve works great for that! Hope we’re good! Even with my sensitive skin the tape didn’t cause any direct irritation. But everyone’s bodies are a little different so it’s always a good idea to check with any new thing you’re putting on your body like this.

As a performer, I need a product that lasts all day and can withstand sweating and whatever else gets thrown at me. Hopefully nothing on stage though! But TransTape is a 10/10 in that regard. I move around a lot on stage and try to put on a hell of a performance, and bb it stays put. It’s important, for that reason, to use some kind of removal oil, and in a pinch any natural oil will do.

So how long should you actually wear it though? I generally don’t wear it for more than two days. Usually we take it off at the end of the night just because it’s a really fun group project. Tee Hee. But there’s been plenty of times that I’ve fallen asleep with it on and it’s never been an issue. But then, you’d probably want to take it off in the morning, and it will definitely last longer than a day. Like I said, it stays put. I won’t recommend wearing it longer than a couple days at most, for the reason that you have beautiful skin to take care of.

And that’s really all there is to it! Just remember before you put it on for the first time to do your patch test. Clean up the skin before you apply it and always use your Jojoba Removal Oil when you do finally decide it’s time to come off. No matter if you take it off tonight, or tomorrow night just be sure you’re taking care of yourself is the main thing!

Because that really is the main thing isn’t it? Taking care of yourself. At the end of the day that’s really what we’re doing here. Always remember to take care of yourself. No matter how that ends up looking. That’s the big take away I guess. Don’t push yourself so hard you hurt yourself. Sometimes your best means rest. I push myself a lot so I know a little about that, trust me. But it’s just a good idea in general to make sure you do the things to keep you safe and healthy. No matter if that looks like remembering to do a patch test before trying your TransTape in a whole new spot on your body, or just remembering to be good to yourself in your thoughts and your actions.

As for me? I’m going to keep practicing. It does the body good. Last year my motto was, “Be Kind to Her,” and this year I think it is, “give to yourself/allow yourself” or something to that degree. I haven’t quite figured it out yet. But you can bet, I’ll try my best, to keep self love in mind. Forever your gf, and oh I just thought of it, my motto this year. It’s, “Don’t forget your crown, princess.” And by that I mean gratitude..

Self Love & Kindness,
