IS TAPING YOUR CHEST SAFE? Yes! Taping is very safe, if done properly and with the correct type of tape. With all binding methods there are precautions to take to ensure the best result and to lessen the chance of damage. Always use TransTape or kinetic tape that was intended for the body, NEVER use duct tape or Ace bandages to bind your chest. Binding with these materials can restrict your ability to breathe and move properly. Ace bandages, in particular, are designed to constrict, so as you breathe, they get tighter and tighter and can really hurt you. Taping is much better than a traditional binder as it does not restrict, constrict or compress your body or organs at all. Taping allows for full range of motion, mobility and breathing. It is more discreet than binding as it does not cover the back, chest or shoulders and is not visible under your garments.
HOW LONG CAN I WEAR TRANSTAPE? TransTape was intended for multiple day use and can be worn up to 5 days depending on your level of activity and how often you are showering.
CAN I GET TRANSTAPE WET? Yes! TransTape is waterproof and sweatproof allowing for it to be worn through many vigorous activities including swimming in the ocean or a pool, showering and bathing. TransTape will dry naturally on its own but we suggest pressing the towel against your chest and squeezing as opposed to rubbing back and forth to dry as this will curl up the edges and lessen the strength of the adhesive.
HOW LONG IS EACH ROLL OF TRANSTAPE? Each roll of TransTape is 5 meters or 16.5 feet long! Our rolls are not pre-cut allowing YOU to determine the length of each strip.
HOW LONG DOES EACH ROLL LAST? This depends on your activity level and how often you shower. Heavy exercise, sweating and frequent showering may cause the tape to soften over time and may causing sagging, resulting in needing to change your TransTape more often. Typical use of changing your tape every 3 days will result in the tape lasting 1-2 months depending on the amount of tape you use per application (usually 2 pieces per side).
IS TRANSTAPE THE SAME AS KTTAPE? Yes and no. TransTape and KT tape are very similar but have many differences. They are both kinetic tape that was intended for use on the body and for multiple days of wear. KT is intended for the repair of injured muscles, hence the narrow width. TransTape was intended to cover the breast tissue and has a stronger adhesive to hold the extra weight. KT tape is only available in 1 width, 2.5cm, or 2 inches. TransTape is available in 3 sizes, our smallest being twice the width of KT tape and our largest being 4.5 times wider than KT tape, at . KT tape comes in pre-cut strips resulting in wasted tape. TransTape is not pre-cut allowing YOU to determine the size of your strip, minimizing waste. KT tape has their logo printed on the strips and the material has a shimmery finish making it less discreet. TransTape is a matte material and does not have any identifiers or logos creating a more discreet and natural look. KT tape is only available in beige, black or standard colors of red, blue, green and purple causing less discretion. TransTape is available in 3 skin tones, light beige, dark beige and brown allowing you to match your skin tone best for the most natural look.
DOES TRANSTAPE CONTAIN LATEX? NO! TransTape is made of 95% cotton, 5% spandex and has a medical grade acrylic adhesive. Some skin reaction may still occur. We suggest placing a small test strip on your skin for 24 hours and removing it with oil to see if your skin reacts
HOW DO I KNOW WHAT SIZE TO CHOOSE? TransTape comes in 3 sizes as well as 3 skin tones to best fit your needs. Sizing is a personal preference but here is a quick guideline: typically, A/B cups will want to use the small, 7.5cm wide roll as you will not need as much skin coverage. B/C cups typically benefit from the medium size as it tends to cover the breast well with one strip. D/DD+ and larger tend to enjoy the large, 12.5cm wide size as it helps to cover a large amount of skin and tissue with a single piece, but we have had many larger chested guys report back that they prefer to use the small size because it is easier to manage. I was personally a “long” C cup and I enjoyed using the medium 10cm size on the majority of my breast tissue and used the small 7.5cm size to smooth out the extra fat that would squish out the top.
WHY DOES TRANSTAPE COST SO MUCH? We feel as though our prices are very reasonable compared to our competition, KT tape. We only charge one price for all of our rolls, although they cost us different prices to purchase. We like to have one price for all of our rolls so that you are not being charged based on the size of your chest. We also use a portion of our sales to donate our products to youth organizations and camps as well as other LGBTQ+ groups and also to assist in top surgery costs for guys in our community. TransTape would not be able to do so without your assistance.
WHY ARE SHIPPING COSTS SO HIGH? Unfortunately, we have no control over the price of shipping as the rates are set by the United States Postal Service. We are in constant contact with the USPS and gotten our prices as low as they will currently allow. As their prices change, ours will too. For international orders, we understand how expensive it is and realize that we are they only distributors of this product. Please contact us for a promotional code to help offset the shipping costs.
IS YOUR PACKAGE DISCREET? YES! We ship our products in either a standard poly shipping envelope or in a USPS priority bag or box depending on your purchase. We use a standard shipping label that has our company name in the upper left corner for the return address. We black out the TransTape on our domestic orders but cannot remove it for international orders or the package will be returned to sender. Otherwise there are no identifying markers on the package
WHY ISN’T MY TAPE STICKING? Our adhesive is very strong but is easily removed with the aid of oils. That being said, take special care to remove all oils, lotions, dirt or sweat from your skin prior to application. We suggest showering and wiping the application site with rubbing alcohol to ensure the strongest bond. Our adhesive is heat activated meaning that it needs to be rubbed vigorously with your hand after application to activate. If you have tried all of these things and are still struggling, please contact us at email@example.com as we have found that some rolls may be defective
HOW DO I REMOVE TRANSTAPE? ALWAYS use oil for removal. Fully saturate the tape in oil, allow it to soak through for 5-15 mins, until the oil reaches the adhesive and gently peels off. You may also remove it in a hot shower with soapy water, after the oil is applied, for an even gentler removal experience. We have created a special blend of removal oil consisting of almond oil infused with essential oils of tea tree and cedarwood as these oils are antimicrobial, antibacterial and have skin healing properties. It is not necessary to use our oil blend, as any oil will work. We suggest sticking to natural oils such as almond, grapeseed, coconut, olive or even canola or corn oil but we highly suggest avoiding baby oil as it is petroleum based and may raise estrogen levels causing an interference with your testosterone levels and potentially causing cancer.
WHY DID I GET A RASH OR SKIN IRRITATION FROM TRANSTAPE? It is REQUIRED for you to complete the 24 hour test strip prior to your first use of TransTape to test for potential allergies or skin reactions to this specific adhesive. If you are allergic or sensitive to the adhesive in TransTape, please discontinue use immediately. Skin irritation and rashing may occur due to over stretching of the tape as well as improper removal. You must release the bond of the adhesive on TransTape before you remove the tape to reduce the risk of irritation.
