Hi it’s Danielle, bb. Hello men, gals, and pals. TransTape enthusiasts. It’s everyone’s gf, and that means me. Let’s get to know each other first, so I’ll start. I am primarily a performer and entertainer, studio owner and mixing engineer for bands across the Appalachian region and beyond. Also, I am a trans woman and love being cute and fun. Why take things too seriously. It’s your bimbo-pilled hot girl studio engineer gf. Oh, and she hosts dnd on Mondays.
I use TransTape often when I perform, or feel like looking a certain way in that pretty dress. I love that TransTape is not only trans owned and operated but also easy on my sensitive beautiful skin. I use TransTape primarily to lift, but also for tucking in some situations.
Many adhesive types will bother me, burn my skin, leave significant redness, and some tapes have had me out in hives. Ouch. But TransTape adhesive doesn’t bother my skin at all, also the Jojoba removal oil that I am using is apparently closer to my own naturally occurring skin oils and feels great, smells wonderful. It keeps me feeling soft and works well.
‘Lifting,’ is the gift that keeps on giving. I am growing tits, after all. For well over a year and a half I have been taking feminizing hormones. For me personally, my body helps me feel affirmed in my gender and experience as a trans woman. When I lift with TransTape, it’s everything, basically. Lifting in a dress makes me feel cute and the breathable fabric is discreet. I do this instead of wearing a bra or anything and a big part of that reason is I have my nipples pierced. Lifting uses minimal tape and is a simple and easy process. Bonus points that it leaves my piercings free to do the work for which they are intended. Lifting to me just adds to the allure I bring, in a natural feeling way. It kinda feels like a little hug. It boosts confidence. I'm not sure of the psychological reasoning, let's be real, but I figure it’s like the extra attention to that area of my body makes it like a hot girl thundershirt or something haha if that makes any sense.
Along with my gf Charli (who designed the shirt pictured left, available at TransTape Merch & Artist Merch Store) we do a lot of work in the audio and visual world of music. That means we see so many people at events we are hosting, performing, or working. And half the job of being an artist full-time is networking, which is in ways, just another performance. TransTape helps me feel affirmed, personally; extra cute when I lift and/or secure if I am tucking. This makes me more confident to express myself the way I know how, and the way I need to to perform at a top level. If I have any advice, it's to be true to yourself and do what feels right.
All in all I find TransTape has been incredibly helpful on my journey and whenever I wear it on stage (which is always) I know I will look my best! It gives me more confidence in myself because I know everything is in the right spot. And on top of that the fact that it is a company, ‘of trans people, for trans people,’ is something I can get behind, and it feels wonderful to be part of this growing community of cool people. Thanks for reading. Now tell me a little about yourself.
Self Love & Kindness,
Danielle
