"I am an artist from Virginia and I came out as a trans man in April 2021. Most of my art revolves around being a trans man in the American South and how growing up here has impacted my understanding of masculinity. My art strives to show the breadth of southern masculinity and the beauty and love that it holds. I also want more trans people to be the subject of art and that drives me to create."
"My interpretation of a ‘Euphoria’ prompt for a pride art prompt list. The title inspired by the song “Two Virginia Boys” by Sam Gleaves. I love love love queer country music. Some other queer country musicians I listen to are, Orville Peck, Paisley Fields, Lavender Country, Pink Williams and My Gay Banjo. The binding technique pictured here is TransTape … there’s definitely a bit of a learning curve but I like it a lot! I’ve never used a traditional binder because having something tight on me is a big anxiety trigger and luckily I have a smaller chest so I can “pass” without binding but tape gives me freedom again and I’m so thankful it works for me."
