What NOT to do with TransTape!
So today we’re gonna be doing something a little different! So far I’ve been telling you what and how to do things. Well today we’re gonna go a bit in the opposite direction. I’m going to tell you some of what not to do. Or if that’s too strong for you, at the very least I will be discussing some things that I personally can not endorse and I highly recommend you avoid. But for real, don't do it. I’ve already done them all and I can attest that yeah bad idea.
So the first thing you certainly don’t want to do is to just pull off your TransTape! Don’t do that. I know I know you didn’t listen to your aunt Charli and you strapped yourself up like you were only going on stage for a few hours and now you’ve really gotta pee. Well baby climb in the tub if you have to because if you don’t use any removal oil, which is just a natural seed oil, we use Jojoba and it’s delightful. But use some oil to loosen that tape dear. Because the way you’ve got yourself taped up… dang. Just climb in that tub. Take a bath afterwards. We don’t have to tell anyone. Adjust follow my more trans woman tucking centered tucking method. And above all don’t just rip that TransTape off bare skin. And absolutely don’t do it on sensitive skin!
Which leads me nicely into the next portion. Don’t put TransTape on sensitive skin. For tucking I like to cut some spaces in so I can fold the tape back on itself to go over the more sensitive skin down there. Now if you use a lot of oil you could maybe get away with it but for one thing. Which I’ll get to. That’s actually the next part. But if you don’t have enough oil and that TransTape isn’t completely off that tender skin down in your panties… I mean ouch. So best not to risk it.
Besides that comes on to yet another way of wrongly applying TransTape. Putting it on without a bath. Now remember before about not putting it on soft parts? Well this is the other part. You also sweat down there. So you know don’t give yourself the opportunity to develop a rash. Don’t tape a bunch of sweat and dirt and bacteria onto your skin and then go out clothes. Especially not down there. That’s not the vibe we want. So yeah, don’t do that either.
Now don’t get the idea that there’s like a huge list of things not to do with your TransTape. It’s really just a couple of things. After all this stuff is specifically designed to stay in place. It’s not the original body modification for no reason. And because of how well this stuff works. You do need to mind a few details.
But here’s the flip side of that. You don’t have to worry about your TransTape falling off half way through the night. I wear this stuff on stage and in crowds. It gets hot in both places. And so long as I’ve taken care to not just be strapping myself up over dirty sensitive skin and then go yanking the TransTape off my body I’ve never had any problems. I have pulled it off without the oil, and yeah ooof don’t do that. Like I get it the night went really well, that really pretty girl decided she wanted to see where the night goes. Slow down ma’am the waiting is part of the fun! Finding yourself raw and hurting may not be the place you wanted to… well at least not to start the night. What consenting adults do and all that. But nobody wants to start out hurting. How is that fun?
Which just like that comes right on into the last part! Don’t have a bad time! Like why would you want to right? Okay. So don’t. Don’t have a bad time. Trust me girl I’ve had them. Just skip that whole thing! Try it out sometime and see what you think! Now I know my job is weird and it may seem like I’m just having parties and doing amazing things. But let me tell you this. Well yeah mostly. But there’s a difference between working at a concert and attending a concert. Personally I prefer to work. If for nothing else I always have a place to plug in my phone. But I mean a job is a job and there’s a lot that goes on before and after the show. But I mean Just do the thing, climb the ladder, lead a team, it’s actually great if you’re doing something you're passionate about. If you can. But the way I see it in a world we’re so many people get paid to do basically nothing all day long. Why not go for it? Don’t not have a good time. Don’t forget to be weird. And above all never ever stop being yourself.
